Led Zeppelin with Philharmonic - September 22, 2012

Cynthia will be performing with Windborne's Music of Led Zeppelin from Virginia Beach, VA and the rest of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic on Saturday evening, September 22nd, 2012 at the Pikes Peak Center.  Come enjoy one of the world's largest rock bands...75 symphonic musicians plus our visiting rock musicians playing great favorites like Kashmir, Going to California, Rain Song, Battle of Evermore, No Quarter.   It'll be a GREAT evening.  

Opening Evening Philharmonic - September 15, 2012

Cynthia is performing two of her all-time favorite works by Ottorino Respighi on Saturday evening at 8:00 and Sunday afternoon at 2:30:  The Fountains of Rome and The Pines of Rome.   Our fantastic maestro, Josep Caballe'-Domenech,  will take us all to a swirling and wonderful place as we perform these great Italian works.   We will also play a neat piece by Nino Rota (Milan Conservatory graduate, well-known for his major film scores in collaboration with Franco Zeffirelli and Luchino Viscontin).  Complementary Gelato will be served back stage after the shows in honor of our generous supporters.   

Orchestra Camp Concerts - July 21, 2012

Following a week of intense rehearsals with 102 student musicians from Pueblo, Denver and Colorado Springs, Cynthia will be performing as the orchestral pianist with the guest violinist from Nashville, David Davidson. The two concerts will feature the three orchestras, with David, a well-known recording artist and composer in the Nashville area, featured on several tunes composed and recorded by Mr. Davidson. The Friday evening concert will be held at 7:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, across from the YMCA in downtown Colorado Springs, and the Sunday evening concert will be held at 6:00 pm at Village Seven Presbyterian, near Carefree & Academy Blvd.

Fiddlin' with Kraig Kenning - March 24, 2012

Visit the Princeton or Cottonwood hot springs and then come to the Salida Steamplant Event Center to hear an evening of National Slide Guitar Champion Kraig Kenning and Cynthia.  You won't want to miss it!  You can check out Kraig's website at KraigKenning.com. 

Cliff House Bar - November 3, 2011

Cynthia will be joined by James Bristow in the Red Mountain Bar & Grill from 5:30-7:30 for an evening of favorites, from jazz to rock and celtic to popular.   Sit by the fire on the nice leather couches and enjoy some excellent fish-n-chips or a delicious hamburger with fantastic fries.  

CD-release Party - October 15, 2011

An Emerald Illusion - by Cynthia Lynn and Dan Nelson.   An hour-long collection of mellow instrumental music to listen to during massage and/or yoga or meditation sessions.   Five varied tracks designed to take you to different 'places' while you relax or unwind from the day's activities or stressful situations. 

FREE YOGA sessions at MACS in Colorado Springs:  Movement Arts Community Studio from 4:00-7:00 pm on Saturday, October 15th, 2011.  First session at 4:00 with Yogi John Duprey.   Have some Tea/Mate' and hear more music until the Second session with Yogi Carly Rogers.

Following a week of intense rehearsals with nearly 100 student musicians from Pueblo, Denver and Colorado Springs, Cynthia will be performing a celtic solo on viola with the guest violinist from Nashville, David Davidson.   The two concerts will feature the three orchestras, with David, a well-known recording artist and composer in the Nashville area, featured on several tunes, including "Myst in the Garden", composed and recorded by Mr. Davidson.  The Friday evening concert will be held at 7:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, across from the YMCA in downtown Colorado Springs, and the Sunday evening concert will be held at 6:00 pm at Village Seven Presbyterian, near Carefree & Academy Blvd.

Fiddlin' with Kraig Kenning - July 17, 2011

Two chances to see national slide guitar champion Kraig Kenning, from Chicago, playing at Kinfolk's in Manitou on Friday, July 15th 6-8, and again on Sunday, July 17th 6-9 at Front Range Barbeque in Old Colorado City.   Cyndi will be joining him on several tunes on the electric fiddle.   FUN FUN FUN!

 

Convention Concert - July 11, 2011

Cynthia will perform viola on three works for Handbells and Chamber Orchestra at the kick-off concert for a week-long convention to be held at First United Methodist Church on Nevada Ave. in Colorado Springs.   The Pikes Peak Ringers will be featured with the Chamber Orchestra of Colorado Springs at 7:00 pm, Monday evening.

Fiddlin' at Hillside Gardens - June 8, 2011

Cynthia joins "High Wheeler" for folk, rock, country, and some bluegrass at Hillside Gardens for their Wednesday evening beer and brats garden party.   Come enjoy the beautiful landscaping, plants and flowers while hearing some fun music -- guitar, flute, mandolin, banjo, keyboard, bass and violin.  We'll play a whole bunch of my favorites, including Ashokan Farewell. 

Earth Wind & Fire at Red Rocks Amphitheatre - June 7, 2011

Cynthia joins 32 local (Denver & Boulder) musicians playing in the backup orchestra for Earth Wind and Fire at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Tuesday evening, June 7th.   What a blast!   One rehearsal in Denver on Monday, June 6th, and an afternoon rehearsal with the full band at Red Rocks.   The EWF band members are humble, talented and friendly.   Fantastic dinner served for us between rehearsal and show, too.   What a night!   Hope you can be there!

 

Adam's Mtn Cafe - May 31, 2011

Summer is here and Adam's Mountain Cafe has their patio open so you can enjoy the brook running by, as well as the food, and also the music, provided by Wayne & Cynthia, between 6:45 and 9:00 pm.   We'll be playing some medieval and renaissance tunes plus some classical, gypsy jazz, movie/show tunes, Beatles and a few classic rock tunes, including Dream On (Aerosmith) and Dust in the Wind (Kansas) and Whiter Shade of Pale (Procal Harem).   Hope to see you there!

 

Fine Arts Center - "1776" - May 13, 2011

Cynthia and 8 talented friends (flute, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, drums, keys & bass) play music in the pit for the wonderful cast and crew of Sherman Edwards' "1776".   Cory Moosman and Colin Alexander lead the talented actors in a great show running from May 13th to June 5, 2011 at the Fine Arts Center.   AMUZE' has great food and the DECO LOUNGE has a beautiful Chihuly chandelier to enjoy before or after the show.   Hope to see you there!

Bach Celebration Concert - April 3, 2011

Sunday April 3rd, at 3:00, in celebration of Bach's birthday (several days prior), Cynthia will be performing in a string quartet and with a wind ensemble, plus 3 harpsicords and the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble.   Wayne will also join the group for his premier Bach recital of two of Bach's Lute works (on classical guitar).  It is a free concert (freewill offering will be taken to help defer costs) and is one of my favorite concerts that I am privileged to play in annually.

St. Patrick's Day at Springs Orleans - March 17, 2011

Jana Lee Ross and Cynthia Lynn will be performing Celtic favorites (and Danny Boy) and some jazz standards from 8:00-10:00 pm at the newly-updated SPRINGS ORLEANS.   It's a beautiful venue, with a lovely Kawai baby grand on a new mini stage.   Please try their new cajun food and listen to some fun music.   Hope to see you there!

Hausmusik Quartet - February 28, 2011

Cynthia plays Danny Boy, Loch Lomand, Thinking Ever Thinking and Handel with Todd Teske, Tenor, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings.   She will move to the piano for Vaughn Williams, with Sarah Richardson on viola and Todd singing three beautiful hymns.   Dvorak String Quartet will fill the second half, and your ears, with lovely Hungarian melodies.   2/27 in Woodland Park, 2/28 & 3/1 at a beautiful home above the Broadmoor. Light dinner, wine, dessert & coffee included in concert admission price.   Contact Karen at hausmusik2@earthlink.net for ticket information.

FAC - The Producers - February 20, 2011

Mel Brooks, "The Producers" is opening Friday, January 28, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Fine Arts Center.   Huge, wonderful sets and beautiful costumes will delight your eyes.   Great actors and actresses and several of my favorite fellow musicians in the pit will make you laugh multiple times.    Shows are at 7:30 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 pm on Sundays through February 20th, 2011.   Cynthia is the violinist, joined by french horn, trumpet, flute, clarinet, bassoon, cello, bass, drums and keyboards.   Hope to see you there!
